About Me

Thanks for visiting Sweet Strides!

Whether I’m writing about family and friends, or new recipes and workouts, the purpose of my blog is to share with you the fun, random, everyday adventures of my life!

A little bit about me…

First and foremost, I am blessed to have the most beautiful family!

I am also a very lucky girl to be dating my boyfriend, Andrew, for 1 1/2 years now! 🙂

We are both crazy about dogs!

Blinkin is my dog, a 1 1/2 year old Italian Greyhound. He is a bundle of awkward, crazy love that provides lots of laughs!

Axel is Andrew’s dog. He is a 2 year old Springer Spaniel–the most affectionate, sweet dog I have ever met.

My love of food and fitness began when I was very young. My mom, dad, and sister were my taste-testers growing up and encouraged my fondness for cooking. I am by no means a chef, cooking expert, or anything of the sort… but I do love experimenting in the kitchen and putting together ingredients to create delicious, healthy meals. I was also always an active kid growing up–involved in soccer, gymnastics, and horseback riding. I was a cheerleader throughout my high school years and then switched gears when I got to college. I was then introduced to a very unique sport that quickly captured my attention and fueled my love for team sports: Ultimate Frisbee.

I began playing ultimate during my last 2 years of undergrad at the University of South Florida while pursuing a BA in Psychology. I had the privilege of being part of an amazing, growing team of ladies, developed wonderful friendships on that team, and learned so much.

I then continued on to attend the University of Central Florida to pursue a second Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Psychology. Since my passion for ultimate frisbee was still going strong, I joined the UCF women’s team. I have such a love for those women and consider them some of my best friends.

Now…I’m out there working in the real world! I am still working on my second degree, but am primarily devoted to my full-time job as an Executive Assistant/Office Manager at Acomb Ostendorf & Associates–a themed entertainment and hospitality management company. I am so fortunate to work with such a talented, fun, and dedicated group of people.

I hope that, via Sweet Strides, I can share in and encourage your passions for overall healthy living! 🙂
